Common examples of this includes Michael Jackson, Cameron Dias and Nichol Kidman. Many surgeries have gone well, however if you are a celebrity and the surgery does not go right, you can be known for having some of the worst kinds of surgeries ever. Make sure you know whether your surgeon is board certified, who is delivering the anesthesia, and what happens if something goes wrong. Getting answers to questions like these could mean the difference between life and death. Plastic surgeons who specialize in reconstructive surgeries will tell you that they see too many botched plastic surgeries that make them wonder what the original surgeon was thinking.

There are too many cases of the wrong operation, on the wrong patient for the wrong indication. Unfortunately in the US today, there are probably ten non plastic surgeons practicing plastic surgery for every one board certified plastic surgeon. The certification that consumers need to look for is from the American Board of Plastic Surgery. There are only about 6000 plastic surgeons in the country that have this certification.
